FRP properties

Compared with other floor materials, MaxGrate FRP molded grating provides a series of benefits,unmathed impact resistance, while the strength-weight-ratio is only one-fourth of that of steel grating. It is rustproof, slip-resistant, light weight and easy to install. FRP moulded grating is made of continuous fibreglass, fully wetted by unsaturated polyester resin with continuous solidification through a mold system, the uniform structure make the FRP grating perfect bi-directional mechanical properties as well as excellent corrosion resistance.

Different resin has different properties of corrosion resistance. The resins of MaxGrate fiberglass grating are widely used include orthophthalic polyester resin, isophthalic polyester, vinyl ester resin. Vinyl ester grating provides extreme corrosion resistance.

Type-O is ORTHOPHTHALIC resin system designed for generally purpose corrosive requested environments. It has a flame spread of ASTM E-84 Class 1, 25 or less for indoor use. It is ideal choice to replace steel grating with an economical price.

Type-I is a premium corrosion resistant ISOPHTHALIC resin system selected for outstanding acid resistance. It is moderate resistance to caustic and solvent environments. It has a flame spread of ASTM E-84 Class 1, 25 or less. It's more economical than types V and VH, and more corrosion-resistant than type O. So far, it's our most popular resin system.

Type-IF is an ISOPHTHALIC resin system (food grade) designed to meet corrosive conditions commonly found in meat production, food processing, bottling and brewing applications. It has a flame spread rating of 25 or less.

Type-V is a VINYL ESTER system provides superior resistance to a wide range of harsh corrosive environments ranging from acidic to caustic and a high degree of solvent resistance. It has flame spread rating of ASTM E-84 Class 1,25 or less.

Type-VH has all characteristics of type V, and offers a flame spread of ASTM E-84 Class 1,10 or less.

- High strength-to-weight ratio

MaxGrate Fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) Grating is a composite of resins and fiber glasses,its densityis less than 2 kg/dm3, which is 1/4 of the steeldensity and 2/3 of aluminum density. FRP grating's strength is ten times of RPVC, and its absolute strength level is higher than aluminum and ordinary steel. It is very high strength-to-weight ratio compared to metals, wooden, and concrete.

- Impact resistance & Flexibility

MaxGrate Fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) Grating will not dent and deform like metal grating, Its impact resistance allows repeated deflections of fiberglass grating without permanent deformation. Workers would get tired after a long time working on solid concrete or steel platforms, but the flexibility of FRP gratings can ease the strain their backs, feet and legs, so as to increase their comfort and work efficiecy.

- Fire Retardant

MaxGrate Fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) grating has a class 1 flame spread rating of 25 or less per ASTM E–84. The flame propagation rate of ordinary flame retardant grating does not exceed 25, and the flame propagation rate of superb flame retardant vinyl grating does not exceed 10. The oxygen index is not less than 28.

- Non Conductive & Non magnetic

MaxGrate Fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) grating has low thermal conductivity - 1.25-1.67kj/(m.h.k) at room temperature, which is only 1/100 - 1/1000 of metals, therefore it is electric insulation and reduces the risk of electrical shock by acting as an insulator. Frp grating could be used safely under the antiknock, diamagnetism and electric resistant situation.

- Anti-Slip  

MaxGrate Fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) grating has a concave top surface for adequate slip resistance when out of the mold. A secondary operation with silica sand gritted on the top of grating providing superior anti-slip and last longer due to wear and tear.

- Anti-aging

MaxGrate Fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) grating with high grade resin and anti-ageing inhibitor provide the grating long life ageing resistant performance. The Service life of our FRP grating could be expected more than 20 years
